The Cat in the Hat’s Rules to Live By

I wonder if Dr. Seuss ever thought his words would become so personal & timely to so many, myself included.   Perhaps he was intuitive enough to write such meaningful stuff?  I know he is technically a children’s author, his books geared towards beginner readers, but I don’t just read the words, not anymore at least.  Today they mean something.  Today I am who I am, take it or leave it.  I am my own person, I make my own decisions, say how I feel (that’s a work in progress), & I  cannot control others expectations or thoughts &/or feelings of me & vice versa,  I answer to myself & my higher power.  When I take a personal inventory of myself, I reflect on what I can improve in myself, not others.

When you think about it, these are not difficult words to live by. So why do we as adults, (myself included), sway from these  simple rules, or believe they don’t pertain to us.

Is it our ego’s? society? our environment, that makes us think we are better than others & that the rules don’t apply to us?  I most certainly don’t know the answer.  I can simply move forward, keep my side of the street clean(as its stated in some circles), & live in the now.

Thanks  Dr. Seuss for the friendly reminder😊
